These are books I whol heartedly recommend – read them 🙂
The Roll Model (Jill Miller)
Ever wanted to be able to afford massages every day? Or sport treat that twinge that is bugging you? This book is incredible for empowering you to look after you.
You do need to buy some balls to work with, but worth every penny. Enjoy!
Movement Matters
This is a wonderful collection of short essays – easy to dip in and out of – brilliant to make us think about getting more movement into our lives
Dynamic Ageing
Excellent book for all… after all we’re all aging right? 😉
To combat the idea of being too old to make great improvements, Dynamic Aging is filled with stories and advice from four septuagenarians who have been following Bowmans program for a decade, From hiking mountains to climbing ladders and walking on cobblestones with ease, each of these women embodies the books message: No matter where you are starting, if you change how you move, you can change how you feel.
Whole Body Barefoot
This is a book about transitioning to minimal footwear.
It’s about what minimal footwear is, why it’s important to us and how to reap the rewards of being minimally shod without injury.
… yes simply beginning to walk in minimal shoes can cause injury if your body is not used to it.
Written in great Katy style with a heap of exercises to get you reaping the barefoot rewards as fast and safely as possible.
Simple Steps to foot pain relief
If you are struggling with foot pain of any sort then this book is a starter book that gives you some really useful tips on how start reducing that pain…. and it won’t be like anything you’ve been told before!
Katy takes a whole body approach to solving problems of modern day health and this book is no exception.
It’s a book for people new to katy’s work and sets out some simple exercises that anyone can do to start improving their foot health.
Alignment Matters
This is the first book that Katy wrote. It’s all her blog posts from the first five years organised into body parts.
It’s a great book to dip into and has so much content that you’ll probably want to start reading it again as soon as you finish!
It’s not a quick read like more of her recent books, it’s more of a reference book … but if you’re body nerd or are looking for more depth on Katy’s work then this is definitely one to have on your bookshelf.
Book review – move your DNA
This book is mindblowing … I love it!
It sets the scene for Katy’s Work and a new way of thinking.
Everyone should read it.
Reading this wonderful book
Reading this wonderful book and prepping for a study group with @nutritiousmovement tomorrow. I’ve read it before but there’s so much in here I’m loving my re-read. It’s called Diastasis Recti (the technical term for the gap in your abdominals commonly, but not only, associated with pregnancy) but covers so much more. It’s everything you ever wanted to know about your core, why it might not be functioning so well and how to make it stronger. Think forces, tight shoulders and so much more…. needless to say I highly recommend it and am super excited to discuss with Katy and fellow RES tomorrow.
